Esteban Azevedo, PT, ScD, COMT

Owner

Physical Therapist

Esteban is from Tuscon, Arizona. He is the co-owner of MPT with his wife, Amy. He and Amy lived in Anchorage, Alaska prior to moving to Kansas City in 2004. He enjoys running and also has a passion for photography (Kansas City Contemporary Photography).

 

Esteban earned his Master's of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of Arizona. He received his Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University in 2014, which less than 100 therapists nationwide hold this distinction. Esteban is a certified orthopedic manual therapist and is a lead instructor for the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM-US), which is a continuing education group that teaches around the country.

Amy Hay, PT, ScD, COMT

Owner

Physical Therapist

Amy is from Litchfield Park, Arizona. She is the co-owner of MPT with her husband, Esteban. Outside of the clinic, Amy and Esteban love spending time with their two daughters (Willow & River). Amy also enjoys developing vegan and gluten-free food recipes.

 

Amy received her Master's in Physical Therapy and Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Northern Arizona University. She earned her Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University in 2014, which less than 100 therapists nationwide hold this distinction. She is a certified orthopedic manual therapist, and has worked as an adjunct faculty member at Rockhurst University. She also travels around the country as an assistant instructor for the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM-US).

Kasey Miller, DPT, COMT

Clinic Director

Physical Therapist 

Kasey is from Derby, KS and currently lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife, Courtney and 1 year old son, Knox. He enjoys running, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Kasey received his Bachelor’s degree in biology from McPherson College in McPherson, KS where he also was a member of their collegiate basketball team.

 

Kasey earned his doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Kansas University Medical Center in 2016.  In 2017, he became a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) within the Internation Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM-US). Now, he travels around the country and teaches continuing education courses on advanced treatment of orthopedic conditions for the IAOM-US.

Ryan Morris, DPT, TPS

Physical Therapist

Ryan is from Topeka, Kansas. He currently lives in Roeland Park, KS with his wife, Anne, and two year-old daugther, Mae. Ryan is a Kansas basketball fan, enjoys running, and spend time in Colorado hiking and camping. He also loves photography and attending Sporting KC soccer games.

 

Ryan earned his Bachelor's degree in biology from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Kansas University Medical Center in 2012 and in 2019 he earned his Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) certification through the International Spine & Pain Institute.

Allie Thomas, DPT

Physical Therapist

Allie is from Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Her and her fiance, Ryan, love to go to the lake, play sand volleyball, and enjoy hanging out with friends. Allie also enjoys watching soccer as she has coached club soccer for seven years. 

 

She received both her Bachelor's and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Missouri State University. Her Bachelor's degree is in Exercise and Movement Science (2015) and she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. Allie also recieved her Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) certifications since graduating to help you become more efficient in the way you move to reduce the risk of your pain returning.

Ethan Kuster, DPT, CSCS

Physical Therapist

Ethan is from Jefferson City, Missouri. Him and his wife, Natalie live in Kansas City, Missouri. Ethan is an avid sports fan, with a special love for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Missouri Tigers.

 

He received both his Bachelor's and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University. His Bachelor's degree is in Exercise Science (2014) and he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017. Ethan is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and was a strength coach for Rockhurst University. He has also become certified in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) allowing him to improve your performance and movement patterns.

Ana Hydeman, DPT

Physical Therapist

Ana lives in Roeland Park, KS with her husband Austin and dog Brodie. She enjoys going to the lake with family, rock climbing, and playing sand volleyball.

 

Ana attended the University of Arkansas and received a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2014 (Woo Pig!). She then graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019.

Lisa Aulner

Billing Manager

We are not just committed to excellence during your treatments, we want to make sure that the business side of your treatment runs as smoothly as possible as well. This process starts with Lisa. 

 

Lisa knows how to skillfully navigate through complicated insurance and billing paperwork.

 

This skill comes from Lisa's experience over the last 15 years with Modern Physical Therapy but also comes from her dedication to do whatever she can to make sure our patients understand their insurance coverage.

Felicia Snead

Office Manager

In Missouri, physician referrals are required by the state to undergo physical therapy. The referral process can be very complicated and time consuming for the patient. However, at Modern Physical Therapy, Felicia ensures that we have an up to date referral so that you do not have to worry about anything but your recovery. 

 

Felicia has worked in the business side of the medical field for the last 8 years. This has provided her with extensive knowledge to help you answer any questions you may have about the business side of your treatments.
